Jenny
Hee hee.

QLoN
Thank you for explaning it to him. Smile

QLoN
Hmm, loking at the list over the emprors there is a Tacitus. He seems so familiar...

Jenny
You might be thinking of the historian Tactius.

Jenny
Tacitus*

QLoN
Hmm, that might be him.

QLoN
But is Justin II the last one of them all?

Jenny
Romulus Augustulus was the last: which is neat, because the very first recorded king of Rome was Romulus.

QLoN
Heh.

QLoN
But the man I still can't remeber the name of, wasn't he very bad?

Jenny
Romulus Augustulus was the last emperor in Rome. The Empire continued in the East in Byzantium for a while.

Jenny
Commodus?

QLoN
Yes, that's the one.

Jenny
He was one of the worse emperors. Several 'good' emperors came before him. They were good rulers, that is. They were horrible men. Hadrian, I know, was a creepy, disturbed person.

QLoN
Hmm... But at that time, did the Romans suffer when it came to wars? Dad mentioned something about it, bur I can't remember...

Jenny
They probably suffered as much as any other empire. In the height of their power they were nearly undefeatable, though they could never quite conquer Germany, Scotland, and Persia. As the empire declined they had a lot of trouble with the Goths, Celtic peoples, and the Huns.

QLoN
Ooh...

QLoN
But when Marcus Aurelius ruled, were there a sickness or something like that?

Jenny
That I don't know.

QLoN
Hmm, that confuses me... I saw that program and I wonder if it all was true...

Jenny
It probably was, I just haven't heard of it.

Jenny
I know Rome suffered yearly from plagues.

Jenny
The rich people and the emperors would actually retire into the mountains to get away from the sickness.

QLoN
Hmmhmm.

QLoN
But if you are going to study the Romans, where is the best place to begin? Or maybe I should say; what is the best to study in the beginning?

Jenny
I would say the best place to start would be Julius Caesar, and what happened after him.

QLoN
Then I'll tell that to Dad and make him find some good books. Smile

QLoN
Thank you so much for being so helpful to me and Dad. I can tell from his eyes that he is very happy and exited. ^.^

QLoN
*gives Jenny a big and shining star*

Jenny
Aww!

QLoN
And thank you for telling me all this and explaining it. It's a pleasure to have you as a "teacher".

Jenny
I'm so glad I could help. It isn't often that I find someone interested in what I like.

Jenny
You make a good student. Smile

QLoN
Ooh, I know that feeling. Daww... *melts into a puddle*

Jenny
I have to go wash dishes now, though. I'll be back in a little bit. ^.^

QLoN
*snuggles The Jenny!*

Jenny
*snugs!*

QLoN
And take the Gladiator sword with you!

QLoN
*sends both the sword, a chariot and some horses*

QLoN
I think I will head over to the other chat now. And again, thank you. Smile But I hope you will have a wonderful trip! God bless you dear. *snuggles! and crawls out*
